Mr. Dunbar visits Chicago

A dear friend of my parents' came into town recently and I got a chance to meet him. I was too shy to chat, but I could tell he was a nice man. Here we are at the House of Worship.
Mama also ran into another old friend, Chase. What a small world.We went to our favorite Thai restaurant for lunch...
...chatted most of the night....
... and the next day we were off to the city!
Of course we had to go to the art museum!


And although Mr. Dunbar couldn't join us for lunch, we had yummy food at Millennium park.

It was a hot day... gotta keep hydrated folks!
Later it was time to say goodbye and we took him to the airport. Here I am enjoying a delicious banana while we wait for his flight.
I even practiced my lipstick-putting-on skills.
I thought mama could use some, she looked a bit pale.

Bye Mr. Dunbar!! Thanks for hanging out with us! I promise next time I'll have a lot more to say!

Dress up day!

Today we took our formal family photos... and boy was I happy to wear my special dress! Here we are outside the photo studio waiting to see our pictures.

Cicadas

I don't like 'em but mama sure does! A few weeks ago they came up from the ground and they were EVERYWHERE!!! I could hardly walk on the sidewalks... (I'd make mama carry me so I wouldn't step on them). I don't see the fascination in these bugs... but, well... my mom's "unique" ;)

Our last part of the trip we spent staying with mama Julie and Bumpa. Here I am learning some tunes with mama Julie's help.

Then we went to have lunch with Abuelito at a traditional Costa Rican restaurant overlooking San Jose... it was called Tiquicia. Two thumbs up!

We had a family barbecue and many of papa's family members came over to see us! It was really nice :) Here I am with Ian and Abuelito.... he was reading us a story (in Spanish of course).


Ian even smiles big like me! He's so cute :)

This is one of my grandma's (Abuela) dogs... he was really cute. Whenever we would sit down to eat he would jump on your chair like this waiting for you to give him some meat.
Here I am with mama and my GREAT grandparents!!! How many people can say that?!!

This is one of my favorite uncles... tio Fernando! What an uncle! He's just started his first year of school to become a doctor.
