Mama's first turkey day

This year we had a quiet Thanksgiving at home with just a couple of friends over. Mama decided to cook the turkey this year and make a whole feast... we all had our suspicions... (I had frozen pizza in the freezer just in case).

This was the probably-suspecting-turkey...

... the brine mixture ...... the unique marinating/brining method the night before ...

... washed and ready to get cookin' ...... some foil technique mama learned from the internet ...

... I helped peel the potatoes :)... the rest of the meal ...

... in the end, it turned out OK :) I guess I'll use that frozen pizza for another day.
The relieved cook!

Trick but mostly treating in the city

This year I was lucky enough to have TWO chances to go trick-or-treating! First, I went to the Fisherman's Warf with my friend Sara where we picked up a couple pumpkins (for free!) and then hit the shops for some treats!

Later, mama and I went to a pumpkin patch to pick up some BIG pumpkins that we could carve.
We really got into the Halloween spirit :)

These poor suckers don't know it... but they're next! For Halloween night I went to my friend's house for a spooky party, and then we all went out together to see how much candy we could slyly coerce from unsuspecting grown-ups using our innocent sweet faces :) Boy, did it work!

We saw some original costumes like this recycling bin... (that's how you know you're in California!)

... and this sushi!!! Overall, I'd say it was a very lucrative night :) Mmmm!

Subtle Hint?

Mama and I went to this cool play place called Peekadoodle, and boy, what a place!! I could play in my own miniature size version of San Francisco complete with Golden Gate Bridge and all... while she got to indulge in coffee at the cafe and catch up on a little light reading.

Here I am giving mama the BIGGEST hint that I could possibly think of without coming right out and saying, "hey, I want a sister!"
